Bogalusa’s Lemuel A. Holloway, 57, was arrested Wednesday, June 11, by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office and charged with theft of assets from the aged.

A resident of Azalea Court, Holloway was featured on the Sheriff’s Office’s “Most Wanted” website page. Holloway made several promises to sheriff’s office personnel that he would turn himself in, but did not. With the assistance from the public, Holloway was found behind his house in a wooded area, where he was apprehended.

Bond was set at $10,500. He remains in the Washington Parish jail in Franklinton.

Holloway is a former employee of Cook-Richmond Funeral Home. He continued to collect insurance payments on behalf of the company but allegedly kept the money for his own use.

“We put him on the Most Wanted website to alert the public,” Chief Deputy Mike Haley said. “We got a few tips that he was still in town. He let us know he might be in Tupelo, Miss., and later Gulfport, Miss. He had been in town the entire time.”
