Bogalusa City Schools second graders will be switching campuses for the 2014-15 school year.
Grade two is currently housed at Central Elementary. According to the School Board, there had previously been interest in moving the second-graders to be with the district’s kindergarteners and first-graders, who currently attend Byrd Avenue, but space issues prevented the move. The current plan is to house the second-graders in the portable classrooms, with their younger cohorts in the main building.
According to Byrd Avenue Principal Sheila Lawrence, parents may register their child for the second grade at the school, located at 1600 Byrd Avenue in Bogalusa, during regular business hours during the summer.
