CORBETT
Cynthia Violet Corbett passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, in Jefferson. She was born Sunday, Feb. 23, 1947, in Plymouth, Montserrat in the British West Indies, to Ben Brown and Florence Corbett Morgan, and was a resident of Bogalusa since 1988.
She enjoyed travelling and gardening. She was very dedicated to her church, loved the lord and was very giving and loving to all. She opened her home to anyone in need and was a mother to all. In the last 12 years she enjoyed childcare and considered the families as her own.
She is survived by her mother; four children, Carolyn A.R. Corbett, Llewelyn A. Corbett, Andy E. Corbett and Althea C. Corbett; three brothers, Vincent Brown, James and David Morgan; 14 grandchildren; Krystian M. Williams, Jason E. Williams, Theresa N. Thomas, Kuyune A. Corbett, Aaron A. Corbett, Naya L. Corbett, Yamon S. Bennett, Davon E. Corbett, Te’quain A. Corbett, Krist-Yown E. Corbett, Adin E. Corbett, Chamique N. Corbett, Cherry and Blossom; and eight great-grandchildren, Cameron E. Harris, Anyia A. Harris, Kamille E. Harris, Elijah E. Williams, Isaiah Calhoun, Nayomi E. Williams, Mackenzie Thomas and Brielle Thomas. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories 10 “adopted children” (and their 12 children), for whom she loved and cared deeply.
She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Rosemond Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, April 3 at 2 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
The wake will be held Wednesday from 6-9 p.m., and visiting hours at the funeral home will begin Thursday at 1 p.m.
According to her wishes, Cynthia will be cremated immediately following Thursday’s services and her ashes will be taken to Montserrat.
