Bogalusa native Alton Johnson will be preaching his first sermon at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Christ Way Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Michael O’Ree at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 444 Elliot St. in Bogalusa.

The son of Aristine Johnson and the late O.H. Carson, Johnson is the loving and caring father of Alton Jaylon Johnson, Alana Johnson and Keldon King. He is a Bogalusa High School graduate. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University for two years, majoring in business administration and playing football.

For more than 30 years Johnson has been in the grocery business, as a store manager and as a trainer for new employees at new stores. He has received training in E-8 leadership and has overseen several successful stores.

Later in life Johnson accepted the call into ministry to spread the word of God. He and O’Ree invite the public to come support him as he enters into his next chapter of life.æ
