THIGPEN

Sidney Ira Thigpen, 85, born June 27, 1928, in Bogalusa, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, his residence in Bogalusa.

He is survived by two sisters, Melba (Richard) Randolph and Sue Williams, and his friend and caregiver, Ruthie Leming.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dean Thigpen; his parents, Lonnie Thigpen and Almeta Kindy Thigpen; his brothers, L. J. Thigpen and Doug Thigpen; and a brother-in-law, Denson Williams.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, from 10:30 a.m. until time for the funeral services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Eddie Pardue officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
