JOHNSON

Gary Arthur Johnson was born Dec. 17, 1944 in Franklinton, to the late Freddie and Aurla Johnson. He died Sunday, March 16, 2014, after a long illness.

He joined Hayes United Methodist Church at an early age.

After graduation from Washington Parish High School, he moved to Chicago and was employed with United Aulene for 30 years.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, a cousin, Peggy E. Harvey of Houston; an uncle, Henry (Willie B.) Watson of Chicago; three nieces, Kristian Harvey, Erica Faye Watson and Erin Watson; two nephews and godbrothers, Keith and Kevin Harvey; a godsister, Ada Londy; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 21 from 2-6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6-7 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at noon at Hayes United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barbara Gipson, pastor, officiating.

Internment will be held at Hayes United Church Cemetery.
