Students who are taking Taleria Pelayo’s Principles of Business class at Franklinton High School were able to put what they had learned to the test when they participated in an “Interview Day” at the school recently. They were interviewed by four people from the community, including Maria Jacobs of the Opulent Beauty Institute, Inc.; Seleria Jones of Lia’s Resale Shop; Rainbow Grady, a neo-natal nurse at Children’s Hospita; and Janet Picou, math coach at the Washington Parish School Board.

The students had to prepare and conduct themselves in the proper manner for a job interview, as well as wear the proper attire. Each of them was evaluated on how they communicated and how they conducted themselves during the interview.

According to Ms. T, the name the students call her, the overall “Interview Day” was a great success.
