ANDERSON

Jessie Mae Anderson was born July 2, 1931, to the late Charlie and Millie Robinson Sheridan. She departed this life Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the age of 82, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center.

The life of Mrs. Jessie Mae Anderson was truly a life of service to others. While she enjoyed her health, her days were filled with meeting the needs of and bringing joy to all she met. In sickness, her life is beyond reproach. The humility, gentleness and cooperativeness exhibited during her illness are a great testimony of her faith and will forever be a challenge and blessing.

She was first united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Melodysee Peters, and to this union one child was born. She was united secondly to Randolph Anderson, and this union was blessed with two children. She worked in the restaurant industry and in a nursing home.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. After moving to Bogalusa, she joined Mt. Bethel Baptist under the Leadership of the late Rev. A.L. Owens, where she served faithfully on the usher board. Upon returning to Varnado, she joined New Missionary Baptist Church, remaining under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Owens. She served on the mission board and remained a member until death. She rejoiced in attending her church services and wearing white with the steward sisters on second Sunday.

“Miss Jessie” leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Treveno Juan Anderson of Varnado and two daughters, Rosa (Rev. A.R.) Moses of Angie and Debra (Steven) Crumedy of Bogalusa; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by seven sisters, Rosa S. Newkirk, Lula S. Morris, Minnie S. Abrams, Lola Peters, Della S. Morris, Carrie S. Lewis and Lillian S. Morris, and two brothers, Deacon Eddie Sheridan and Deacon Willie Sheridan.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 13 from 5 p.m. until time for the funeral service at 7 p.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Angie, with the Rev. Lenzie R. Cotton officiating.

Dismissal will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Robinson Cemetery in Angie.
