Richard “Dusty” Taylor, 57, a resident of Greensburg, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.

He was born in Bogalusa on May 2, 1956.

He is survived by three daughters, Jontel Marie Redmond and husband, Michael, of Mt. Hermon, Pamela St. John of Omaha, Neb., and Tessie Lynn Taylor of Franklinton; one son, Desmond Earl Taylor of Mt. Hermon; three grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Taylor and wife, Marylin, of Franklinton and Michael Taylor and wife, Beverly, of Mt. Hermon; his mother in law, Nila Dixon of Greensburg; two sisters-in-law, Crystal Dixon Watson and husband, Doug, of Greensburg and Carol Collins Barnes and husband, Homer, of Liberty, Miss.; one brother-in-law, Charles Dixon and wife, Patricia, of Greensburg; a special niece, Anna-Marie Decute of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Cheryl Dixon Taylor; his mother, Mary Lucille Dedon Taylor; his grandfather, Ollie Dedon; and his grandmother, Tessie Dedon.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at Plank Road Cemetery, 6722 Highway 67 South in Clinton, officiated by the Rev. Dudley Claxton.
