VHS Blue Angels hold Mini Dance Camp

The Varnado High School Blue Angels Dance Team held its fifth annual Mini Dance Camp last November, and participants learned stretch techniques, dances and stand routines. Prizes were given and participants received lunch, snacks, a certificate and a T-shirt. The 2013 Mini-Camp Blue Angels performed at three VHS home basketball games in their camp T-shirt.
VHS principal Randy Branch commended the children for participating in the camp, which gives the high school Blue Angels an opportunity to show young girls how character, leadership and team spirit through dance. Parents and guardians were excited for their children to be involved in such a fun and positive dance camp.
The minicamp choreographer was O’Bryant Jefferson, of The O’Bryant Dance Co. in Varnado.
Camp leaders were the VHS Blue Angels First Capt., Sabrina Magee and Second Capt. Dayshjuana Nathaniel.
Other Blue Angels involved in the fun-filled day were Blue Angels Raven Magee, Keneisha Kemp, Nekeilya Pack, Breanna Holmes, Alexandria Amacker, Jasmine Moses, DeJa Peters, Jeneshia Patterson, Allie McCain and Ayrial Smith.
Blue Angel sponsors and assistants are Laquisha Greely-Mark, Cashanda Jackson-Nichols, Tanula Ratliff-Owens and Jamie Weary-May.
