MILLER

Phillip D. Miller, 43, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington due to complications from the flu.

Phillip began his life in Brewton, Ala., on May 13, 1970. He was a great man who loved spending time with his family, whether spending recreational hours on the water or under the hood with a wrench in his hand. Harley-Davidson were his motorcycle of choice and he enjoyed burning up the roads with his friends.

Phillip always had a beautiful smile and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His main occupation was as a crane operator working throughout the Southern region. Phillip never met a challenge he could not tackle. He was a perfectionist at everything he did. He always strived to do his best.

Philip is survived by his wife, Jessie Hernandez Miller, and his son, Colby Seth Miller, both of Bogalusa; his daughter, Samantha Colleen Miller of Atmore, Ala.; his stepdaughter, Hilary Ledel (Jonathan) Cruz, and his step-granddaughter, Pamelia Ledel, both of Mobile, Ala.; his father, Darrell Ray Miller and wife, Glenda, of Century, Fla.; his parents-in-law, Jimmy and Jane Hernandez of Bogalusa; his brother, Ronny Ray (Teri) Miller of Oakley, Calif.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Joan Miller; his maternal grandparents, Buford and Mildred Howell; and his paternal grandparents, Harry and Lucille Miller.

The wake will be Thursday, Feb. 13 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Bogalusa from 11 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
