MESSINA

Joseph Emile Messina, 54, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. He was born on Feb. 26, 1959.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sinopoli Messina of Bogalusa; one son, Justin Lee (Jessica) Messina of Franklinton; three sisters, Deborah Messina (Rick) Corsetti of Holt, Fla., and Rachel Lena Messina and Rebecca Messina (Emmett) Guy, both of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, Emile Messina and Helen Bernice Smith Messina, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m.

Visitation will continue on Thursday at Church of United Faith United Pentecostal Church, 1100 Marshall Richardson Road in Bogalusa, from noon until time for the funeral services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Field Thigpen officiating. Interment will follow at Otzenberger Cemetery.
