DIXON
Leatrice Joyce Moses Dixon, 79, a Bogalusa resident, departed this life Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Resthaven Living Center.
She was born in Angie on Oct. 1, 1934, and at an early age she united with the Wesley Ray United Methodist Church in Angie.
She worked for 20 years at Resthaven Living Center caring for residents. She would always say when she got where she could not do for herself that she would move to a living center to be with other residents, and that is just what she did. As time moved passed, she became very ill but did not want to bother anyone or complain. She would often say, “I am in so much pain. I am tired and ready to go home.”
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Claudia (Rodney) Johnson, Myrtis Bickham, Chandra Dixon and Cynthia (Golden) Ootsey; one son, Darrin (Debra) Dixon; one brother, Robert J. Moses of Angie; one sister, Willie Faye Owens of Stateline, Miss.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert T. Moses and Beatrice Johnson Moses; one sister, Gloria Dean Moses Pigott; one brother, Calvin Moses; one son, Leandras Dixon; and one grandson, Derrick Fland.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 7 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2-5 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6-7 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Lorenzo Magee officiating. Interment will follow in Louis Moses Cemetery in Angie.
