Little change in forecast; severe icing reported on some roads

Washington Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness reported little change in the forecast after the 2 p.m. briefing with the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are in the upper 20s to lower 30s and will remain below freezing until mid day Wednesday. Mixture of freezing rain and sleet transitioning to mainly sleet / snow. Potentially changing over to all snow before ending early Wednesday morning. Another hard freeze is expected for Wednesday night.
Parish President Richard Thomas said the Office of Emergency Preparedness is being inundated with reports of icing on bridges and roadways. We are quickly taken appropriate measures to re-sand the bridges. Hazardous travel conditions will persist till sometime Wednesday, and we urge all residents to please drive with extreme caution if they must be on the roadways.
Severe Icing has been reported in the following locations:
Old Columbia Road from Hwy 38 to Hwy 430
Hwy 62 at Hwy 438
Hwy 38 west from intersection of Hwy 25
Hwy 450 north from Porters Curve to Mississippi
Hwy 62 from LA 10 to Hwy 436
Nobles Cemetary from creek to Hwy 424
Hwy 424 to Hwy 62
Hwy 10 from 440 to Tangipahoa Parish line
