Slade — Emmons

Greg Slade of Franklinton and Dee Dee Carrier of Franklinton are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sierra, to Chris Emmons, the son of Dale Emmons and Amy Emmonsd, both of Bogalusa.

The bride-elect is a 2009 honor graduate of Franklinton High School and 2013 cum laude graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, with a bachelor’s degree in English education. She currently is employed at Franklinton High School teaching English I.

She is the granddaughter of Kenneth and Sylvia Slade of Angie and Frank and Jo Ann Strickland of Franklinton. Her stepfather is Scott Carrier.

The prospective groom graduated in 2006 from Franklinton High School and is employed by International Paper Co.

He is the grandson of Ed and Lydia Emmons and Richard and Ann Creel, all of Bogalusa.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Bogalusa. A reception will follow at Bogalusa Grill and Event Center.

Following their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Bogalusa.
