SANDERS

Joyce Hall Sanders, 84, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Heritage Manor in Franklinton. She was born in Monticello, Miss., on March 2, 1929, and was a longtime resident of Bogalusa. In years past, she attended and became a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church.

She survived by four sons, Billy (Patricia) Sanders, Roger (Jan) Sanders and Robert William (Judy) Sanders, all of Bogalusa, and Michael (Diane) Sanders of Varnado; a daughter, Peggy Sue (Rodney) Varnado of Bogalusa; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.                         

Her husband, Authur Ray “Jack” Sanders, and her parents, William Jeffered and Hattie Ofelia Hall, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 6 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-10 p.m., and will resume on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time for religious services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
