FORD

Dale Price Ford, a resident of Angie, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe.

Born in Angie on January 29, 1933, he worked with the Washington Parish School Board as a school bus driver for 32 years and with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as an inspector for Animal Disease Eradication. He was owner and operator of Ole Hickory Barbecue in Angie for six years.

He was a member of Sandy Hook Baptist Church in Sandy Hook, Miss. He had several Bible scriptures that were important to him: “Nothing is impossible with God,” and “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for thou are with me.” He also carried a Jesus card with him that read, “If we meet and you forget me, you have lost nothing, but if you meet Jesus and forget him, you have lost everything.”

On Dec. 23, 1956, he married Shirley Jean Sheridan Ford, and they had three children, Robin Dale Ford Parker, Kevin Lee Ford and Jody Lamar Ford. They have six grandchildren, Tyler Parker, Trevor Parker, Cody Ford, Dylan Ford, Konnor Ford and Kollyn Ford.

His parents, H. A. Ford and Louise Evans Ford; his brother, Harlan Ford; and his daughter, Robin Ford Parker, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Sandy Hook Baptist Church, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ricky Daugherty and the Rev. Larry Mizell officiating. Interment will follow at Bonnie Cemetery in Angie.
