Charles Ernest Mitchell, born Oct. 31, 1946, passed away at his residence Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the age of 67.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Hall Mitchell of Bogalusa; two sons, Richie (Kelly) Mitchell and David Mitchell; two sisters, Marion Pounds and Martha Baham; six grandchildren, Kristan Mitchell, Justin Thomas, Annie Mitchell, Brook Mitchell, Brady Mitchell and Clay Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brister and Leona Blackwell Mitchell, and a son, Clay Mitchell.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Brown McGehee Funeral Home from 5- 9 p.m. and will resume Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time for services in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Rev. Ed Jenkins and Rev. Fred Brumfield will officiate the services. Interment will be in the First Baptist Church of Sun cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ritchie Mitchell, David Mitchell, Charlie Kahl, Justin Thomas, Brady Mitchell and Randy Pounds. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Arabie and Charles Kahl.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
