Jody William Kennedy, 49, a resident of Stateline, born Dec. 9, 1963, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at his home.

He was a former scaffolding supervisor with Brand, Inc. who enjoyed watching racing. He was especially fond of NASCAR and was an Earnhardt fan. Jody’s favorite thing was to spend time with his children, family and friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Paris Kennedy of Thomas; two sons, Joseph Kennedy of Thomas and Jacey Kennedy of Improve, Miss.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances Kennedy and Joan Ezell, both of Stateline, Teresa and Brad Pierce of Varnado and Angela and Guy Miller of Warnerton; a grandson, Caleb Kennedy; his father-in-law, J.W. Thomas of Thomas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, J.T. and Elisa Thomas of Thomas, Theresa Vogt of Bogalusa, Lawanna Thomas of Thomas, Helen Moore of Improve and Shone and Bill McNeese of Thomas; a special friend, Robbie Burke; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Thomas Kennedy; his parents, J.W. Kennedy and Martha Stewart Kennedy; an infant sister, Sherron Kennedy; his mother-in-law, Violet Thomas; and brothers-in-law, Barry Ezell, Kerwin Vogt and Joey Moore.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Bible Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue Wednesday at 10 a.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the church, with Rev. Harold Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Cauley Thomas Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to assist them with final expenses.
