WATSON

Dorothy E. Smith Watson, 83, a lifelong resident of Washington Parish, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.

She was born on March 30, 1930, and during her life worked as a beautician and later retired from the Washington Parish School System. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children, James Russell Watson, Janet (Gene) Watson Foster and William Craig (Jody) Watson, and a special nephew, Jimmy Jay Smith; grandmother to her nine “Sugar Lumps,” Patrick Foster, Tami (Grem) Schilling, Jordan (Cooley) Foster, Ashley Foster, Alli (Steven) Foster Johnston, Halley (Jeremy) Watson Ross, Lyndlee Watson, Natalie Watson and Laci Watson; and great-grandmother to her five “little Sugar Lumps,” Seth Schilling, Sydney Schilling, Edi Foster, Reese Johnston and Alyssa Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson “Jeffy” B. and Lennie Smith; her husband, James William Watson; her son, James Russell Watson; one infant daughter; four brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until time for the funeral services at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Caleb Martin and Bro. Jimmy Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery.

Patrick Foster, Jordan Foster, Steven Johnston, Grem Schilling, Seth Schilling and Jimmy Jay Smith will serve as pallbearers.
