Rosie Evelyn Young, born June 6, 1927, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Resthaven Living Center at the age of 86. She was a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice McNabb and Connie (Tony) Ulvick, both of Angie; a brother, Kenneth (Delores) Jones of Angie; four sisters, Louise Dillon Creel of Slaughter, Margie (John) Jenkins of Denham Springs, Betty (Frank) Graham of Tylertown, Miss. and Sarah Leslie of Bogalusa; seven grandchildren, Clint Shelton, Dustin McNabb, Derek McNabb, Jared Rayborn, April Rayborn (Erik) Smith, Tyson Young and Chad Young; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Beulah Kemp; husband, Charley B. Young; a son, Charles L. Young; a sister, Ann Castilow; and a brother-in-law, Gary Leslie.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 11 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m., with Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Rester Cemetery in Varnado.
