THIGPEN

Margie Aletha McNeese Thigpen, 87, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. A Franklinton native, she was born on April 18, 1926.

Her husband, Ellis Thigpen, and her parents, Jessie McNeese and Jennie Sumrall McNeese, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Sue Gerald, John Thigpen and David Thigpen; a sister, Jennie Henderson; a brother, Elmo McNeese; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until time for the funeral services at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Carl Beech officiating. Interment followed at McNeese Cemetery in Sheridan.
