Sara Howard, administrator of Good Samaritan Living Center, congratulates Dietary Department employees for completing and passing their ServSafe certification program, which is sponsored by the National Restaurant Association and teaches basic food safety practices for receiving, preparing and serving food.
Food Service Supervisor Victoria Schilling said she is proud of the employees for taking the initiative to complete this course.
“Our staff takes pride in the food we present to our residents, and we take every precaution to prevent any food-borne illness which might affect our residents or employees,” she said. “By completing this course, employees are made aware of the need to check food temperatures, sanitation procedures, cross-contamination precautions and what to watch for when receiving our food orders.”
