QUINILTY

Ella Rose Quinilty, 85, a native of Washington Parish and resident of Baton Rouge, passed from this life on Wed-nesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Nottingham Regional Rehab Center in Baton Rouge.

Rose was born on July 27, 1928, to James and Velma Simmons, and graduated from Pine High School in Washington Parish as valedictorian of her class. She was an active member of Head of Island Baptist Church in Maurepas. She loved flowers, and enjoyed catching up with friends and family over the phone. She was a loving wife, mother of five, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed by so many.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Dan Cline and Tanis Quinilty; a son, Vernon Kent Fitzpatrick; and brothers, Jake, Dewitt and Bernell Simmons.

She is survived by her son, Paul Fitzpatrick and wife Becky; three daughters, Paulette Bordelon, Linda (Alfred) Versen and Carolyn (Jimmy) Merriett; sister, Eva Simoneaux; grandchildren and spouses, Jackie (Johnny) Warren, Paula (Terry) Buford, Lisa (Paul) Salard, Carol (David) Leach, Joseph (Leslie) Bordelon, Brad Fitzpatrick, Jeffrey Fitzpatrick, David Fitzpatrick, Jodi (Robert) LeBlanc, Ryan (Victoria) Versen, Tammy (Steve) Moore and Jimmy Merriett Jr.; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 10 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Joseph Bordelon, Ryan Versen, Brad Fitzpatrick, Michael Salard, Buford T. Buford and Dillon Duplessis.
