Bruce A. Terrell, 64, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in Covington.

Born Sept. 16, 1948 in Bogalusa, he was a resident of Chalmette for more than 50 years before moving to Covington in 2006. He was an active member of First English Lutheran Church of Metairie. A professionally licensed civil engineer, Bruce retired from a distinguished 38-year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, having most recently held the position of Chief of Construction Division upon his retirement.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Diane Suprean Terrell; two daughters, Leslie Terrell Salinero (Christian) and Kellie Terrell Strawley (Jason); his parents, Ubert and Nanetta Terrell; one brother, Aubrey Terrell; mother-in-law, Myrtle Suprean; and a host of other relatives and friends.

One brother, Charles Keith Terrell, preceded him in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 3701 Cleary Ave. in Metairie. Visiting hours will begin at the church at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bruce’s memory to First English Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.

E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington is in charge of arrangements.
