BARBER

Gwin Dale Barber, 69, passed away July 12, 2013, at Resthaven Living Center. Born Nov. 28, 1943, he was a retired electrician from the paper mill, and he was a longtime Bogalusa resident.

He is survived by two sons, Steven Dale (Holly) Barber of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Acy Allen (Sheree) Barber of Franklinton; a daughter, Lisa Dawn (Dennis) Dykes of Franklinton; a stepdaughter, Macy Walton of Angie; a brother, Eddie (Patricia) Barber of Bogalusa; a sister, Cindy Barbara (Chad) Thomas of Franklinton; a half-sister, Rachel Sumrall; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

His parents, Mose and Mae Ella Barber, and his stepmother, Aline Sumrall, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held Sunday, July 14 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m., and continued on Monday from 8 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with services conducted by the Rev. Derrick Dantin. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
