ROGERS

Evelyn Doris Rogers, born Nov. 10, 1939, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at Regency Hospital in Covington at the age of 73. She was a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church, and was also a retired from the Bogalusa City School System. She is survived by her husband, Jewel Rogers of Bogalusa; a son, Jewel Dewayne (Lisa Ann) Rogers of Bogalusa; three daughters, Debbie Rogers (Ronnie) Bennett, Dorinda Rogers (Kenneth) Seals and Donna Rogers (David) Riley, all of Bogalusa; two sisters, Della Faye Odom of Gulfport, Miss., and Lavayne Hughs of Hattiesburg, Miss.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Her parents, Clarence Lavernon and Edna Doris Baughman Smith, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 1 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Don Miley will assist. Interment will follow at the Sam Carroll Cemetery.
