THOMAS

Nelda Allison Thomas, 65, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond.

Born May 11, 1947, Nelda was a bank teller at First State Bank and Zellco Credit Union for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bogalusa.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde E. Thomas of Bogalusa; a son, Britt Miley of Bogalusa; a daughter, DeAnn (Byron) Forbes of Franklinton; a stepson, Allen (Wendy) Thomas of Richland, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Lea (Mike) Davis of Bogalusa; her brother, Joel (Joan) Allison of Covington; a brother-in-law, Lee V. Hopkins of Covington; a sister-in-law, Edwrina Burch of Angie; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Her parents, Cedric and Lois Allison, and a sister, Dorothy Hopkins, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Thursday May 2 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 6-10 p.m., and will resume on Friday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Jimmy Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in the Pounds-Poole Cemetery in Bogalusa.

Pallbearers are Joel Allison, Patrick Graffagnino, Lee Hopkins, Russell Penzato, Kevin Mizell and Kalen Lee. Jeremy Quave is an honorary pallbearer.
