ROBINSON

Rev. Dewitt Robinson Jr., 65, born April 27, 1947, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Franklinton.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 48 years, Sis. Rena Burton Robinson; one son, Pastor Norman (Sharelle) Robinson of Franklinton; one daughter, Lashun Robinson of Hammond; four grandchildren, Lawrence N. Robinson Jr. and Amber Robinson of Franklinton, and Chansellor Robinson and Jacob Robinson of Hammond; six brothers, Pastor John (Francis) Robinson, Apostle Willie B. (Lucille) Robinson of Franklinton, Sugar Ray (Barbara) Robinson, Reginald (Debra) Robinson of Tacoma, Wash., David (Donna) Robinson of Renton, Wash., and Kathaw (Dorthy) Robinson of Oakley, Calif.; three sisters, Donis Calhoun, Tammy (Nathanial) Hopkins of Franklinton and Loretta (James) Dillon of Tylertown, Miss.; five godchildren, Willie Jean Robinson of Dallas, Natalie Burris of Madisonville, and Cheryl Brumfield, Whitney and Brittany Palmer, all of Franklinton; three aunts, Lillie Mae Sorton and Gertrude Robinson, both of New Orleans, and Carrie Hamilton of Chicago; his best friend, Jessie Ray Thomas; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt Robinson Sr. and Altha Mae Robinson; three brothers, Lawrence Robinson, Bonnie Ray Robinson and Apostle Jimmie Robinson Sr.; one sister, Leolar McClain; one son, Lawrence Robinson Sr.; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Robinson.

Visitation was held Saturday, April 13 at Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church at 11 a.m., with Norman Robinson, pastor, and Apostle Willie B. Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Cemetery in Franklinton.
