RILEY

Marjorie Young Riley, 85, died peacefully at her home in Thomas Monday, April 8, 2013.

She was born June 18, 1927, in Amite County, Miss., to Charles Raiford Sr. and Myrtle Irene Smith Young. She was a member of New State Line Baptist Church. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught for a short time at Dexter (Miss.) School and completed her career in the Bogalusa City School System.

She is survived by two sons, Reed (Janet Duncan) Riley of Thomas and Mike Riley of Albuquerque, N.M.; three granddaughters, Tiffany Riley (Alex) King and Beth Riley, both of Pineville, and Melissa Riley of Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Madison Riley, Riley King, Elizabeth King and Jaxon Hocke; a sister, Mary Ann (Doyle) Nunnery, and a brother, Charles Raiford Jr. (Bettie) Young, both of Smithdale, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Betty Young of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Odis R. Riley Sr., and a brother, W.E. Young, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Friday, April 12 at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, Miss., from 10 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Richard Cothern and the Rev. J.W. Graves officiating. Burial will follow in

Crystal Springs Cemetery at Dexter.
