WARTBERG

Julius Wartberg Jr., 82, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at his residence in Husser.

Born Oct. 18, 1930, he was retired from Jefferson Parish Fire Station 18 and served in the Korean War.

He is survived by two sons, Mike (Deborah) Wartberg of Putnam, Ala., and Scott (Deana) Wartberg of Husser; seven grandchildren, Michael Wartberg Jr. and Leanna of Sunnyvale, Texas, Troy Wartberg and Christina of Saraland, Ala., Christopher Wartberg and Krystal of New London, Conn., Scott Wartberg Jr. and Lucy Anthony of Hammond, Jeffery Wartberg and Cheree Coates of Husser, Dustin Jenkins and Ashley Cowart of Denham Springs and Katelyn Wartberg of Husser; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nora Blacklidge of Georgia and Anna Harper of California.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sadie Firmin Wartberg; his father, Julius Wartberg Sr.; his mother, Jeanie Buras Wartberg; his stepfather, Alfred Lytell; and two sisters Emelda Nugent and Coralee Lytell.

A memorial service will be held at his residence, 21145 Pine Hill Subdivision Road in Husser on Saturday, April 6 at 11a.m.
