The Riverside Board of Commissioners voted Thursday night to end Calvin Green’s term as CEO of the hospital.

Returning from a two-hour executive session, the board made the decision in a 9-3 vote with no discussion and no public comment. Acting on a motion made by Dr. Mark L. James, the board also voted unanimously to retain CFO Patricia Mizell and “place her as interim CEO until a permanent CEO can be found.”

At board’s February meeting, a number of Riverside Medical Center employees were present to express concerns about the hospital, and one called for the resignation of Green and Mizell. A special meeting was held March 7, with the purpose of discussing the professional competencies of the CEO and CFO. No decision was reached at that meeting, however, and the board elected to defer further discussions to the regular board meeting held Thursday.
