Authorities in Washington Parish said a 41-year-old man is accused of aggravated rape and aggravated incest of an 11-year-old child.

Warren Ciravola Jr., 41, was arrested Thursday, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

“DNA evidence was collected during this investigation, and it will be extremely difficult for Mr. Ciravola to explain this DNA for any reason other than sexual intercourse,” Capt. Tommy Sorrell said in a news release.

Sorrell, Detective Terry Harris and Lt. Chris Hickman participated in the investigation and arrest.

The suspect’s wife was present at the time of his arrest and was arrested herself on an outstanding traffic attachment.

Both were placed in the Washington Parish Jail.

The rape suspect is being held under a $500,000 bond for each charge. His wife was released on bond the day of her arrest.

Sheriff Randy Seal’s comments were quick and to the point.

“As a father and grandfather, I am sickened to even think that such a heinous crime could be committed against an innocent child in Washington Parish,” he said. “I appreciate the hard work of our detectives to investigate and arrest (the suspect).”
