SANDIFER

Ola Mae Passman Sandifer, 92, a resident of Bogalusa, died at 4:32 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Resthaven Living Center. Born April 12, 1920, she was a longtime member of Bonner Creek Baptist Church and a former clerk at J.C. Penney and K&B Drugstore. She enjoyed traveling and was a devoted grandmother to each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was especially caring and loving to her recently deceased husband, James, during his 15 years with Alzheimer’s. She was inseparable from her best friend and confidant, her pet dachshund, Gus.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Larry) Galloway of Bogalusa; a son, Ronald (Billie Jean) Sandifer of Central; six grandchildren and spouses, Randy and Susan Sandifer and Rhondi and John Kennedy, all of Central, Michaela and Donovan Guillory of St. Landry, Ricky and Beth Romano of Pineville, Jamie and Dawn Galloway of Bogalusa and Tracy Galloway of New Orleans; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara; her husband, James Javan Sandifer; her parents, David Passman and Luella Perry Passman; two sisters, Oveda Blackwell and Ada Lea Morgan; four brothers, Leo, Lattimore, Coldon and Loran Passman; and an infant sister.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 19 at Crain Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
