HUNT

Alma L. (Powe) Hunt, 76, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Franklinton.

Born March 16, 1936, she was a very loving mother and grandmother and always put others ahead of herself. She was always so faithful to the Lord and talked about how ready she was to go be with Him. She had several hobbies but her favorite was playing gospel music on her keyboard.

She is survived by one son, Randy “Butcher man” Crain and wife Betty of Isabel; two daughters, Kathy (Jim) Walgomott of the Oak Grove Community and Kimberly Dawn (Less) Stewart of the Plainview Community; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; three nieces; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Don A. Crain, Tommy Jackson and Lindsey Hunt; her parents, Willie and Bertha Pittman Powe; a brother, Paul Powe; a nephew, Ricky Powe; special aunt, Bernice Lang; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 14 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 6-10 p.m. Visitation continues on Friday from 8 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine First Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Derrick Dantin and Rev. David Barber will officiate.
