Deborah Lee Ball Young, 78, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1935.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Dawn Patricia Young of Bogalusa, Ellen Marie (Jessie) Bickham of Sun, Gwendolyn Annette Young (Micheal) Laurent of Bogalusa, Chandra Frechon Young (Eric) Holmes, John Wayne (Nacy) Young and Charles (Peggy) Young, all of Sun, Robert Lee (Inez) Young of Bogalusa, Willie Rushelle (Sabrina) Young of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lyndon Bernard (Tandra) Young of Bogalusa; two grandchildren she raised as her own children, Cynthia Deon Bickham and Joshua Montrell Bickham, both of Sun; 28 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Hollis Ball of Los Angeles, Dorothy Ball Woon of Bogalusa, Mary Joe Ball Stripling of Ocean Springs, Calif., Willie Ruth Ball Simon of Houston, Texas, Luceria Ann Ball Harry of Detroit, Mich., Edris Ball (Duke) Swaingain of New Orleans and Evangelist Sandris Ball Harris of McDonough, Ga.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Young; her mother and father, Harvey and Ellen Marie Ball; two sons, Wesley Ray Young and Harry Matthew Young; five brothers, Harvey Ball Jr., Roy Dale Ball, Leonard Ball, Robert Lee Ball and Theopalis Ball; four grandchildren, Willie Rushelle Young Jr., Timothy Deon Young, Harry Matthew Young and Deborah Young; two great grandchildren, Jaquarious Yvonne Hall and India Anis Nelson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7 at Crain & Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa from 2-6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Antioch Church of Christ Holiness USA, 1832 Dolly Ave. in Bogalusa, with Rev. Lenwood Thompson, pastor, officiating and Rev. Elzey Bridges, host church. Interment will follow at Young’s and Walker Cemetery.
