The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas including eastern Washington Parish and the city of Bogalusa until 3:15 p.m.

At 2:23 p.m. National Weather Service meteorologists detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.  This storm was located eight miles southeast of Folsom and moving northeast at 40 mph.

Doppler radar has indicated some weak rotation within this storm. While not immediately likely, a tornado may still develop. If a tornado is spotted, act quickly and move to a place of safety in a sturdy structure such as a small interior room.
