A Mississippi man found bleeding at the car wash on Sullivan Drive Monday afternoon died from what was possibly a gun shot to the back of his head.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday to determine if the wound to Cedric Fairly, 34, of Purvis, was caused by a bullet.

The Bogalusa Police Department was called to the Mr. Quik Wash at Sullivan Drive and E. 4th Street at 2:30 p.m. after a passer-by spotted Fairley “laying there bleeding,” said Assistant Chief Rocky Gerald.

The victim was treated at the scene and transported to LSU Bogalusa Medical Center where he died.

Gerald said the BPD gathered evidence at the scene and sent some to the Crime Lab, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at 732-6238.
