CONERLY

Ray “Shoe String” Conerly, 71, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. Born on Sept. 30, 1941 in Osyka, Miss., he was a longtime resident of Franklinton, as well as Bogalusa.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Anne “Jody” (June) Caldwell, Linda Ann Tempton, Jacqueline Davis and Sharon Ann Conerly, all of Memphis, Tenn., Alfred Conerly of Atlanta, Ga., Marilyn Conerly-Taylor and Felicia M. Conerly, both of Baton Rouge, Ray Charles Conerly Jr. of Statesville, N.C., Stephanie Ann Crossley of Hammond, Charles Conerly of Jackson, Miss., and Terry Conerly of Los Angeles; two sisters, Gladys Alberts of Minneapolis, Minn., and Gloria Magee of Bogalusa; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lula Mae Buckley-Conerly and Jones Conerly; a brother, O.C. Conerly; and a daughter, Sophia L. Conerly Jefferson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at noon. Interment will follow at Greenback Cemetery in Franklinton.
