MOSES

Eva Evlyn Moses, 76, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home in Bogalusa. She was born Feb. 16, 1936.

She was educated in the Walthall County (Miss.) School system. At an early age, she united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Later after marrying, she joined Mt. Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Owens and later Rev. Christopher Matthews. She also united with Levias Temple under the leadership of Rev. Charles Levias and First Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Quillens. She was a very dedicated and hardworking member of each church.

Anyone who knew her knew that she wouldn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. Until her death she was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Christopher Matthews and Associate Pastor Jones, whom she loves dearly. She was a faithful member of the Tuesday Night Bible Class where Sis. V. Hicks is the teacher. Although Eva was a quiet, humble worker for God, she always talked about and believed that if she continued to have the faith of a mustard seed that everything would be all right. She held that belief all the way to the end of life on this side.

She worked for many years at Bogalusa Cleaners and B & B Cleaners. She also worked at Acme Café for many years. On May 24, 1954, she was united in holy matrimony with the late Clifton Moses and to this union seven children were born.

Those whom she touched and nurtured will carry on her legacy now that she has transitioned form earth to glory to be with the Lord, including seven children, James H. Walley, Curlinda (J.B.) Magee of Franklinton, Rosie (Gregory) Levias, Trubonius (LaWanda) Moses and Ezron (Melissa) Moses of Bogalusa, Antionette (Timothy) McCoy and Eztra (Russell) Gholar of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sisters, Shirley (LeRoy) Causey of Franklinton, Willene (Wayne) Magee of Tylertown, Miss., and Dorothy (Ned) Tolliver of Cleveland, Miss.; two brothers, Rev. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Timmie Bickham; her husband, Clifton Moses; one son, Clifton Duane Moses; two sisters, Jewellene Bickham and Mattie Coleman; one brother, Joel E. Bickham; and one nephew, Bruce M. Bickham.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2-6 p.m., with a walk-in from 6-7 p.m.
