E.M. Rayborn

On Sunday morning, Feb. 10, 2013, E.M. Rayborn left with God’s arms wrapped around his shoulders at the age of 86. His angels took him home to rest.
Born Aug. 28, 1926, he believed in helping anyone in need and hard work. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Tenneco Oil Refinery in Chalmette. He had resided in the Washington Parish area since 1986 and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church near his home in Franklinton.
E.M. left behind his loving angel of 63 years, his wife, Betty Boutwell Rayborn; four daughters, Brenda, Arverzinda “Cindy,” Beverly and Joyce; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Lee McDaniel.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Dwight Rayborn; his parents, William Isaac Rayborn and Mary Ann “Mollie” Cook Rayborn; five brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Crain Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with his pastor and family friend, Rev. Mike Stafford, officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, Miss., with military funeral honors.
Pallbearers are Kevin Batiste, Tyler Unsworth, Steven Marco Sr., Gary Davis, Ray Schilling and Wallace Boutwell Jr.
