MCCA XXXIII

The celebration of Mardi Gras takes place in Bogalusa when MCCA XXXIII rolls through the city at 1 p.m. Saturday. The parade always attracts a crowd, and plenty of people took action in recent days to ensure that they would have good viewing by staking claims to spots along the route. Tape, ribbon and barricades block off some areas, while travel trailers are set up in parking lots along the way. On Tuesday, the trailers were quiet, but over the weekend groups of people were spotted sitting outside them and enjoying the fine weather that everyone hopes will hold for the local Carnival krewe, which rolled through rain the past two years.
