Robert Joe Kennedy Jr., 53, a resident of Spring Hill, Tenn., died at 5:08 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
Born June 21, 1959, he was a native of Washington Parish and a member of the First Baptist Church of Spring Hill. He always was a hard worker and was employed as a job supervisor for Division 2 Construction. He was a member of the 6-year member of the National Guard and enjoyed NASCAR and deer hunting. But his favorite thing was Harley Davidson motorcycles — he had lots of Harley apparel and loved riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by two daughters, Brooke Nicole “Boo” Kennedy of Spring Hill; Elanna Kristian “Lil Bit” Kennedy of Franklin, Tenn.; his mother, Clara Mae Kennedy of Angie; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathy and Pat Branch of Pine; Theresa and Robert’s childhood friend, Byron Stogner of Angie; a special friend and former wife, Sherry Roberts and husband Jeff Roberts, of Covington; special friends David and Donna Lane of Franklin and Allen and Deanna Reed of Spring Hill; his former wife, Debbie Kennedy of Belle Chasse; his boss, Greg Dew; all his employees with Division 2 Construction; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eld. Robert J. Kennedy Sr.; his grandparents Roscoe Kennedy and Mary Elizabeth Kennedy and William Oscar Knight and Emma Knight; and a special uncle, Doyle Knight.
Visitation was Monday, Jan. 21 at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., and continued on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with his special nephew, Rev. Keith Branch, and Eld. Mark Hobgood officiating. Burial followed in the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Obituaries can be viewed online at www.crainfh.com.
