The Krewe of BAST will hold its fifth annual Mardi Gras Ball Saturday at the Union Square Great Room.

Doors will open at 8 p.m. Attendees to the formal ball must be 21 years or older. Admission is $20. Carlos Peters will DJ.

Tickets are available from any krewe member, including President Penny Williams, 516-9726, and Michael O’Ree, 750-7007. Vice president of the krewe is Rosalie Burrell Green.

The Krewe of BAST was established in 2007 by Michael O’Ree and family members, who thought it would be a great idea for their family and friends to participate in the MCCA parade. BAST, which stands for Brothers and Sisters Together, has 18 members.

The ball is attended by the MCCA king and queen and their royal court as well as MCCA Capt. Don Spiers.

Other special guests this year will be the Bogalusa High School band and Paper Dolls, directed by Chad Harry.
