Although the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office has released few details of what happened near Varnado late Friday that ended in the deaths of Brandon Alexander and Denzell Wise, Sheriff Randy Seal said Monday that three suspects, reportedly cousins, are now in custody.
The incident occurred on Moses Road, where deputies who responded to a 911 call discovered the bodies of Alexander and Wise and no one else on site, according to the sheriff’s office. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives were summoned and immediately began an investigation. Meanwhile, two men reportedly presented themselves at Washington Parish hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds. Due to the nature of their injuries they were transported to a larger medical facility, the location of which is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.
Detectives were able to identify two additional suspects, and, within hours, had them both in custody.
Alex Wilson, 23, and Lesean Williams, 21, were arrested Saturday and both charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of being a material witness. They are currently in the Washington Parish Jail.
The third suspect, one of the men hospitalized with gunshot wounds, faces the same charges.
Kinoski Wilson, 19, who is under 24-hour guard, is expected to be released within a few days and will be taken directly to the jail.
Seal said his detectives are continuing the investigation into the murders and hope to be able to release additional details soon.
“Our detectives will pursue all details of this matter until it is resolved,” he said. “We are putting together a strong case to present to the District Attorney. I am so pleased that these dangerous criminals have been arrested, and I compliment our detectives and deputies for an excellent job.”
