MULINA

Billie Sam Mulina, 75, a resident of Franklinton, died at 6:37 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and worked at Rayburn Correctional Center for 10 years. He dedicated 20 years of his life to United States Air Force as a training instructor.

Born July 6, 1937, he was a loving husband for 52 years and a wonderful, loving father and the best buddy a grandchild could ask for. He had a simple but enjoyable life collecting honey from his bees, riding the golf cart with his grandchildren, gardening, and spending every day with the love of his life, his wife Connie. He will be remembered as a wonderful man who made a great impact on everyone he met. He will forever be loved and missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Bateman Mulina of Franklinton; three children, Billy W. (Madonna) Mulina of Poplarville, Miss., Michael (Christine) Mulina of Aransas, Texas and Melinda S. Villere of Folsom; 10 grandchildren, Steven A. Mulina of Aransas, Texas, James (Glenna) Mulina of Homer, David M. Mulina of Baton Rouge, Kristy (Mark) Theriot of Baton Rouge, Denise (Ivy) Watts of Livingston, Brandy Mitchell of Baton Rouge, Billie (Jozef) LaCroix of Franklinton, Megan Mulina of Aransas, and Madison Villere and Masey Villere, both of Folsom;

14 great-grandchilden; brothers, Kendall (Judy) Mulina, Travis (Jesse) Mulina and J.W. (Lynn) Mulina, all of Franklinton; sisters, Edith (Pete) Busby of Franklinton and Maida (Mac) Thomas of Pine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, Jewel J. Mulina and Athalee Seal Mulina, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Jan. 1 at Crain Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mike Stafford, Rev. Walter Mixon and Rev. Stan Statham officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
