Victoria Evaltafay Wilson Butler

On Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Victoria Evaltafay Wilson Butler passed to her eternity.

She was born Dec. 8, 1940 to Russell Wilson and Ethel Harvey Wilson. She joined Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness, under the leadership of Rev. John Sander. When she moved to New Orleans, she joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Seal, then Rev. Reed.

She retired from LSU Medical School in 1998 and returned to Franklinton in 2005.

She leaves to cherish her memories a godchild, Denise Wilson of Franklinton; a special great-nephew, KeAndre Martin of Franklinton; two stepdaughters, Antronette Franklin and Audrey Carter, both of New Orleans; three sisters, Clara Ramsey of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Sherrie Hewitt and Alpha Dean Wilson, both of Franklinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Evalda Lacking; her husband, Alfred Butler; two sisters, Elaine Dove and Etta Williams; and three brothers, Russell, Terrie and Arnold Wilson.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 28, from 2-7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton. The funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
