Lucille Borde Smith

Lucille Borde Smith, 85, of Carriere, Miss., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012. Born Aug. 28, 1927, she was native of Bogalusa, a photographer and a member of Byrd’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a devoted Christian who lived her life committed to her family, her church and her community.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Smith (Stanley) Cooley and Pam Smith (Terry) Farr; her son, Todd D. Smith; her only grandchild, Kelsey Farr; two sisters, Althea Ricks and Sharon Borde; three brothers, Bobby Borde, Louis Borde and Wayne (Audrey) Borde; two sisters-in-law, Elnet Smith and Mae Smith; a brother-in-law, Richard Smith; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, Robert Borde and Lillian Lessing Borde; her husband, Douglas F. Smith; and two sisters, Lois Borde and Ruth Borde.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 14 at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune, Miss., from 6-9 p.m., and again on Saturday at Byrd’s Chapel United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., with Rev. Larry Pickering officiating.

Burial will follow in Byrd’s Chapel Cemetery.
