Charles F. Brooks

Charles F. Brooks, 76, a resident of the Oak Grove Community, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at his home. He was born July 26, 1936, in Ellisville, Miss., to John Brooks and Carmen Mitchell Brooks. He was a member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church and a carpenter in the area for many years. He had a great love for his family and music, having played guitar with many different bands through the years and often played at the Louisiana Hayride in his early years.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Amanda Levene Mizell Brooks of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles F. Brooks Jr. and Sharon Brooks of Dora, Mo. and Greg and Joyce Brooks of Stockton, Ala.;

a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robbie Kennedy of the Oak Grove Community; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 3 at Crain Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Lynn Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mizell Cemetery.
