Bobby Jean Forbes Singley

Bobby Jean Forbes Singley, 80, a resident of Angie, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at 3 a.m. at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

She was born Aug. 28, 1932 to Earnest and Bessie Forbes in the Angie area and was a longtime active member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church. Bobby married the love of her life, Carlos Singley, who recently passed away on Dec. 21, 1945. Her life was not the same after losing him and now they are together again. They enjoyed visiting with family and friends and they will be missed by all who knew them.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Billy Ray Freeman of Varnado, whom she lived with, and Jackie and Robert Diehl of Nashville, Tenn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Waymon and Patricia Singley of Angie; eight grandchildren and spouses, Danica and Scott Kirkpatrick, Waymon Eric Singley, Megan and Dustin Lemoine, Jenna Freeman, Candace Singley, Carlos “Cody” Singley, Monica and Eric Cunningham and Shea and Jennifer Diehl; five great-grandchildren, Ariel, Blaine, Jace, Wesley and Ben; two sisters-in-law, Marie Seals and Myrtle Singley, both of Angie; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Singley; a granddaughter, Amber Singley; her parents, Earnest Forbes and Bessie McKenzie Forbes; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Ruby Forbes; brothers-in-law, Delos J. Singley, Clifford Seals and Odean Penton; and a sister-in-law, Verlie Penton.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the church, with Eld. Mark Hobgood, Eld. Everett Broome and Eld. Clyde Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
